Baldock is a small market town in Hertfordshire, England about 35 miles north of London. Baldock Museum is a small community-run museum, staffed by volunteers who raise all their own funding.

There are number of specialist shops in the centre, while the one superstore is located in another historic building, the art deco former Kayser Bondor hosiery factory in London Road at the south end of the High Street. One secondary school serves Baldock and the surrounding villages The Knights Templar School. Knights Templars leisure centre is open to the public, while NHDCs North Herts Leisure Centre is also not far away.

Avenue Park has a paddling pool, tennis courts and a bowling green. Two special annual events provide highlights – the Baldock festival, which takes place over two weeks during May, and the fair which occupies the High Street and Whitehorse Street in the first weekend of October.
