Hawick is a town in the Scottish Borders of south east Scotland. Hawick is the largest town in the Scottish Borders and the most urban-feeling of them. A Norman family, the Lovels, arrived shortly after the Conquest and constructed the earthwork known as the Mote before building the more substantial Tower in the 12th Century.
