Market Harborough has always been an important Market Town. Records show it as such in 1219 during the reign of Henry III, and two years later he permitted the holding of the Market on Tuesdays (instead of Mondays as formerly). In 1993 the new Market Hall, on the adjoining town centre site was opened and today the popularity remains undiminished. The Market is now open every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.
